Kundalini Yoga & Workshop | Angad Singh
Fear in itself is not a bad thing, if channeled constructively it is a force that can motivate, move and inspire us to greatness. However, when we let our fear get out of control it can become a crippling force within our life.
In yogic technology we look at the mind as 3 parts; The Negative Mind, The Positive Mind and The Neutral Mind.
The Negative Mind, or maybe better named protective mind is continually looking for the problems, risks and issues within any decision or situation. The Positive Mind is our creative aspect, producing an endless number of ideas, solutions and initiatives. The Neutral Mind is, as the name suggests, neutral, unaffected and meditative. It is the space from which we (as yogi's) aim to make decisions - balanced, calm and intuitive.
Fear can get out of control when we have sub-conscious blockages that cause the negative mind to become overly protective and to see issues as bigger than they are, or to see issues that are not there. Another common problem we can experiences is when our Positive Mind becomes entangled with our Negative Mind amplifying normal (necessary) protective thoughts into 1000's of other thoughts, 'what if's', and creating complexes that inhibit us in our day to day life.
Also our physical body, specifically our nervous and glandular systems, play a huge role in how we respond to fear. Our adrenal glands in particular control the release of hormones that control our 'fight or flight' response. Overly tired adrenals, and an overworked nervous system can mean that even if our mind is balanced we cannot 'cope' with fears when they do arise.
" Fear and love are the two forces which make us keep going. And future represents one thing, it represents fear. Tomorrow is always symbolic of fear: fear of tomorrow, fear of unknown, doubt about self, doubt about strength, doubt about everything...
...You can see the hand of God working only through intuition, then you do not fear. Intuition is knowledge you see behind the Creator's hand. Otherwise you only see time and space working, and that is very annoying. That is the difference between a man with intuition and without intuition."
Yogi Bhajan
This workshop aims to help us tackle and re-channel our fear to make it a motivating force in our life.
We will work with meditation and pranayama (breath work) to align the 3 aspects of our mind - breaking down fear complexes, building intuition and refreshing our subconscious.
We will work with Kundalini Yoga Kriyas (yoga postures) to balance our nervous & glandular systems so were are better prepared to respond to stress and fear.
No experience of Kundalini Yoga is necessary, just an open attitude.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world.
There's nothing enlightening about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
Marianne Williamson (Speech given by Nelson Mandela)
