Spiral School of Reiki Training to be a Reiki Practitioner
Introduction The Spiral School of Reiki was founded in 2004 by Angad Singh. Originally based in Stoke Newington, London; The Spiral School of Reiki is now based in Brighton and teaches on an international basis.
Whilst there are many books about Reiki, it is impossible to learn Reiki simply by reading. You can learn About Us Reiki but you cannot learn how to give Reiki without training with a qualified Reiki Master/Teacher. This is because part of the training is an attunement to the flow of the Reiki energy, this is a sacred ritual that opens the student to become a channel for the energy, and it can only be carried out by a qualified Reiki Master.
These days there are also many offers available to receive the training at a distance or in large workshop groups, learning with 100's of others en masse and there are also offers to become a Reiki Master in a weekend, learning all 3 levels at once. Whilst all of this is possible at the Spiral School of Reiki we do not recommend these routes. We believe that the training is a very personal matter and that each student should be given the space to be treated as an individual. Therefore we recommend that training takes place in person, and in groups that are small enough for each person to receive the individual attention they deserve.
Reiki Training traditionally takes place over 3 levels:
Spiral School of Reiki Course Details: Level I - 1st Degree Practitioner Training (£90) A Reiki Level I workshop lasts for one day, normally 10:00am - 5:30pm with a lunch break. It is an opportunity to begin your journey on the path of Reiki. During the day you will:
In keeping with our belief that Reiki should be taught in small groups we teach a maximum of 6 students in a Level I workshop (normally 4 or less). After Level I we recommend a minimum of 3 months practice before attending a Level II workshop. In this time we ask students to practice Reiki daily as a self healing process and to complete 9 documented treatments on family or friends.
For Level I no previous experience is necessary, but it is helpful to experience a Reiki treatment (or several) yourself before training. Please get in touch with Angad if you would like to arrange a treatment.
Level II - 2nd Degree Practitioner Training (£135) A Reiki Level II workshop lasts for 2 days, the first day is a full day lasting 10:00am - 5:30pm; the second day is slightly shorter 10:00am - 4:00pm. Both days include a lunchbreak. This workshop is intended to deepen your understanding of Reiki, strengthen your healing ability and to prepare you for working as a professional Reiki Practitioner. After Level II training you are permitted to advertise your services as Reiki Healer/Practitioner to the public.
In a Level II workshop we teach a maximum of 4 students per teacher. After Level II we recommend a minimum of 9 months practice before attending a Level III workshop. In this time we expect students to record treatments with at least 18 clients and a minimum of 27 sessions in total. During this time students are encouraged to book regular supervision sessions (optional) with the Reiki Master in order to support their development and understanding of healing with Reiki.
A Level II workshop can only be attended by students having completed a Level I training. If this training has been completed with another school we ask to see certificated proof of this training and some evidence that the student has been practicing Reiki on a regular basis. If a refresher course/attunement is required we can arrange for a short private session at a discounted rate.
Level III - Master/Teacher Training (£199) A Reiki Level III training session lasts for 1 day and is often arranged privately. Typically running from 10:00am - 5:30pm including a lunchbreak. This session is less of a workshop and more of a private masterclass in Reiki and in the process of attunement/teaching. The session is intended to address any personal issues and questions and to prepare you for working as a Reiki Master/Teacher. During the day you will:
After Level III training you are permitted to advertise your services as a Reiki Master/Teacher to the public. Outstanding students are given the option of becoming teachers for the Spiral School of Reiki.
For Level III we teach in groups of 2 (private classes can also be arranged). After Level III students will have access to the Reiki Master/Teacher for personal questions and guidance (phone & email). We again recommend booking supervision sessions as the student begins their journey as a Reiki Master. It is also possible to arrange for a Spiral School Reiki Master to assist on a teaching day if required.
A Level III workshop can only be attended by students having completed both Level I and Level II training. We ideally like students to have completed at least Level II with us to ensure training standards. If training has been completed with another school we ask to see certificated proof of this training and some evidence that the student has been practicing Reiki on a regular basis. If a refresher course/attunements are required we can arrange for a short private session at a discounted rate.
